RE: South Boston Critical Urban Freight Corridors (CUFC)

Dear Ms. Narayanan,

Thank you for the opportunity to share feedback on the Critical Urban Freight Corridors (CUFC) used by trucks in South Boston to access major industrial hubs such as Conley Marine Terminal, the Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park, and the light industrial areas located north of West First Street.

After reviewing the proposed changes to the Critical Urban Freight Corridor (CUFC) plan in South Boston and considering feedback from constituents, I respectfully request that the portions of D Street and Congress Street be removed from the proposed plan.

While I strongly support the marine industrial uses and the Port of Boston, it is important that we continue to engage in thoughtful discussions as the community evolves and these changes take shape.

The state and federal governments have made significant investments, in partnership with Massport, to
strengthen the Port of Boston and the freight network that supports it. We remain committed to ensuring that truck traffic does not encroach on neighborhood streets within the community.

Thank you for your consideration, and please do not hesitate to contact my office with any questions.

Sincerely,
