The MPO board has released a new amendment to the federal fiscal years (FFYs) 2017–21 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for public review. The public review period for TIP Amendment Two is now open and extends until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Questions and comments may be submitted to:

Amendment Two would program funds for highway projects that have come to the Boston region from a recent federal redistribution of funds, which occurred in August 2016. Other proposed changes include project cost increases, re-purposed earmarks, funds transferred to the Federal Highway Administration’s Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division, and funding for new roadway construction projects.

For a summary of the proposed changes, click here. The summary table explains which projects have proposed changes, what those changes are, their funding sources, the difference in funding amounts created by the proposed change, and where you can find them in the TIP tables.

The summary table also shows adjustments that already have been approved by the MPO. These include the addition of project identification numbers for earmarks re-purposed in Amendment One (to see the changes approved by Amendment One, click here) and information about the years during which the advanced-construction financing method will be used for the Green Line Extension project. Approved adjustments to transit projects are displayed here.
